11/23/2011  Chirstmas Party with Wine & Cheese!!!
The  end  of  2011  is  coming,  but  before  we  celebrate  New  Year's  Eve,  don't  forget  about  Christmas!!!

This  year,  TYPEA  wants  to  invite  everyone  to  come  out  to  our  FIRST  Wine&Cheese  Christmas  Party!

All  you  need  to  do  is  bring  a  bottle  of  your  favourite  wine  and  complimenta...ry  items  to  your  wine. 
Prepare  a  little  explanation  as  to  why  you  choose  the  specific  wine  and  food.
Then  you  can  enjoy  yourself  in  an  evening  full  of  tasteful  wine  and  meet  some  new  friends!

Whether  you  are  a  member  of  TYPEA  or  not,  if  you  bring  a  bottle  of  wine,  the  admission  fee  is  $5.
If  you  are  a  member  of  TYPEA  and  shows  up  without  wine,  it's  ok!  You  pay  $20  and  you  can  come  enjoy  others'  wine.
If  you  are  a  non-member  showing  up  without  wine,  it's  ok!  The  $30  you  pay  will  get  you  a  membership  and  allows  you  to  join  us  for  a  fun  night.

Feel  free  to  bring  your  wine  glasses  and  dress  up  fashionably  and  stylish!

Doors  open  at  7pm  and  the  party  will  start  at  7:30pm.

Word  of  advice:  carpool,  take  public  transit  or  appoint  a  designated  driver  as  we  will  be  enjoying  different  kinds  of  wine.

The  formal  mentorship  relationship  starts  in  April  and  ends  in  May.  On  the  First  week  of  April,  T.Y.P.E.A.  will  hold  a  Mentorship  Info  Session  for  both  mentees  and  mentors  so  everyone  can  learn  the  details  on  their  roles,  responsibilities  and  network.

In  addition,  we  also  have  seminars,  such  as  previous  year's  Mentorship  Seminar  and  Dress  for  Success,  run  in  between  and  help  mentees  build  essential  networking  and  self-marketing  skills.

Mentorship  Program  in  March  2011

The  formal  mentorship  relationship  will  start  in  March  2011  and  end  in  June  2011.  In  March  2011,  we  will  have  an  information  session  and  group  orientation  with  mentors  and  mentees,  so  everyone  can  learn  details  on  their  roles,  responsibilities  and  network.  Our  objective  is  to  provide  senior  university  students,  graduate  students,  new  graduates  and  young  professionals  an  opportunity  to  meet  experienced  professionals  or  entrepreneurs  in  their  field  of  interest,  gain  insight  into  various  career  paths,  and  establish  long-term  relationships  with  valuable  contacts.  TYPEA  president  was  honoured  to  participate  in  a  similar  program  last  year  and  had  gained  tremendous  experience  from  it.  It  is  a  wonderful  program  you  cannot  miss  out!  Mentors  and  mentees  from  the  past  will  share  their  experience  with  you.

The 11th Annual 2010 Taipei Cup Basketball Tournament organized by TYPEA and sponsored by TESTT took place on November 27th and 28th at Taipei Economic and Cultural Office Cultural Centre.

Ten teams registered and competed in the tournament this year.

TYPEA hopes that this event offers a platform for Taiwanese communities to interact with the Canadian society in Toronto. There was also an entertaining exhibition match between TECTO and TESTT/ TYPEA to the exciting event

The winners of Taipei Cup were awarded with a championship trophy, medals, and prizes. The prize for the 1st place team was $250 cash. The 2nd place winner received $150 cash and $100 Ten23 Gift Certificate. The 3rd place team received a $150 Gift Certificate to Yoga. The top 3 teams were Asian Sensations, Titans, and Shameless. Levels  of  play
1.  Beginner
This  beginner  program  will  get  members  started  with  the  right  foot.  In  5  one-hour  lessons,  members  will  learn  the  basics  of  the  golf  swing.  Instructor  Yang  will  teach  members  the  starting  position,  grip,  alignment  and  swing.  At  the  end  of  your  lessons,  members  will  be  able  to  swing  with  a  balanced  motion.
2.  Intermediate
This  program  is  suitable  for  those  who  have  sufficient  knowledge  of  swinging  with  correct  positions  and  require  few  adjustments  and  fine  tune  in  order  to  improve  your  games.  Chipping,  putting  lessons  and  short  games  will  be  provided  by  the  instructor  depends  on  the  length  of  the  program.
